Writer Masha Hamilton has recently established the Afghan Women’s Writing Project. This project started as an idea during her trip to Afghanistan in November 2008, when she understood this country is one of the worst places in the world to be a woman. Inspired by the resolute courage of the women she met who were determined to have a voice in the world, she began the Afghan Women’s Writing Project to give Afghan women access to online writing classes and the opportunity to have their voices heard. I’m one of the teachers, and I’m excited to get started.
Work from the classes will be posted regularly on this blog. Please take a look and bookmark the page. These women have important stories to tell.
